Released on Dec. 30, 1994, the single was certified Platinum by the RIAA for one million copies sold on May 23, 1995.* Remember The Notorious B. I. G. Biggie Smalls (1972 1997) with this award. "Big Poppa" was the second single off of Biggie's debut album Ready To Die. It features a sample of The Isley Brothers 1983 track "Between the Sheets". It topped the Billboard Hot
